A few kilometers from Ciudad Hidalgo, on the road to Tuxpan, is the small town of Jaripeo, from where a journey begins surrounded by lush trees and majestic views of the Cerro de la Víbora. This route leads you to one of the most fascinating natural treasures of the region: the Tziranda Caves.
Exploración Protegida y Especies Únicas
The entrance to the Tziranda Caves is divided into two caves, although only one is open to the public. The other cave is home to 23 species of bats, the greatest diversity of species cohabiting in one place in this region. This site is protected by SEMARNAT and has been studied by speleologist Fernando Ortiz Tovar, who estimates that the caves are approximately 130 million years old.
Formas Irregulares y Belleza Natural
Las grutas destacan por sus formas irregulares, caracterizadas por estalactitas y estalagmitas, formaciones de sales minerales que se encuentran comúnmente en el interior de las cavernas. Durante el recorrido, los visitantes caminan por espacios reducidos entre grandes rocas y tienen la oportunidad de observar hojas y raíces de árboles fosilizados, que añaden un toque de misterio y maravilla a esta experiencia única en la naturaleza.
